Escrow Rules

SettleMe Escrow is a technology service. Payments are processed through Paystack-supported payment infrastructure, and funds move according to the transaction rules both parties accept.

Both parties must agree to the product or service description, transaction amount, delivery deadline, inspection period, acceptance criteria, evidence requirements, refund rules, dispute process, any auto-release rule and the escrow fees. Once accepted, terms are locked and any change requires acceptance by both parties.

The escrow fee is 2% of transaction value, split 1% to the buyer and 1% to the seller. Fees are displayed before either party accepts.

After funding, the seller marks delivery with supporting proof, and the buyer's inspection period begins. The buyer may accept delivery, report a problem or, where the agreed rules permit, request more time.

If a problem is reported, the transaction becomes disputed. Both parties may submit explanations and evidence. Possible outcomes include full release to the seller, full refund to the buyer, partial release and partial refund, replacement or redelivery, a negotiated settlement, or escalation for review.

SettleMe reviews disputes on the evidence submitted. SettleMe is not a court and does not provide legal advice.
